9 Tips For Enjoying and Maintaining Healthy Eating

Eating a healthy diet should be easy, maintainable and fun! The trick is figuring out how to do that. We’ve collected our top tips for enjoying and maintaining a healthy diet! Leave a comment below and let us know any of your favorite tips/tricks.

1. Don’t eat the same thing everyday

This is the number one thing that prevents people from enjoying their healthy diet. The repetition. Stop thinking you have to eat grilled chicken, rice, and veggies everyday in order to hit your fitness goals. There are countless ways to eat a healthy, balanced diet, you just have to put in the work to figure out what works for you!

2. Try new recipes

Learn new recipes! There has never been an easier time to find new recipes than right now. Jump on Pinterest, search in Google, or follow some healthy food accounts on social media for healthy recipes. There are too many good, healthy meals out there to get bored making the same things all the time. You just have to find them!

3. Don’t buy junk

Want to maintain your healthy diet? Stop buying junk food. You will eat what you have in your pantry/fridge, so buy healthy, whole foods. Snack on fruits/veggies and don’t be fooled by all of the “health” foods out there. Just because something says “low fat” doesn’t mean it’s good for you.

4. Stay Hydrated

I can’t emphasize this one enough. Staying hydrated is one of the most simple things you can do to improve your health. However,  SO many people still aren’t drinking enough water. Water is important to help regulate your body’s temperature. Water also helps lubricate joints, prevents infections, reduces acne, and helps deliver nutrients to the cells plus SO many more benefits. Aim for drinking ¾-1 full gallon of water every day and you’ll start feeling so much better about life.

5. Add protein to every snack/meal

Have trouble staying full? Eat more protein! Protein helps us stay fuller for longer and helps build lean muscle! You should be getting around .8 to 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight. So if you weigh 200 pounds you should aim for around 200 grams of protein per day. That’s a lot!

If you need help getting more protein into your diet, try supplementing with protein powder. BAD Athletics protein powder is low in calories, carbs, fats and is free from any artificial flavors or sweeteners.

6. Learn how to make healthier versions of your favorite meals

Unfortunately, most of our favorite foods aren’t the healthiest. So, instead of cutting them out completely, try making healthier versions! There are tons of little tips and tricks for making every day meals a little healthier. Experiment with different recipes/ingredients to make sure you aren’t depriving yourself of your favorite foods.

7. Eat veggies & fruit everyday

Veggies and fruit have fiber and micronutrients that our bodies need to help make you feel more energized and less sluggish. Plus they are low-calorie but filling!

8. Get rid of the “all or nothing” mentality

There are so many chances to eat healthy during the day. If you eat a donut instead of eggs for breakfast, you didn’t just destroy your entire day. All you simply did was have a donut for breakfast. Not a big deal. Eat healthy at your next snack or meal.

If you haven’t worked out in 3 days, your whole week isn’t thrown off. Take those as some “much needed recovery days” and get your booty moving today!

9. Mix it up!

Another area of your life that may need attention is with your supplements. Drinking the same protein powder flavor can get boring after a while. Did you know that all of BAD Athletics supplements are made to mix & match? That means you won’t get tired of the same flavors day after day. Create your own flavor combinations by mixing any two flavors together!
