Oftentimes, the hardest part of achieving goals is remembering them in the first place! How many times have you written down your New Year’s resolutions and didn’t look at them again for the rest of the year? This unfortunately happens more often than not.
To prevent this from happening, we need to focus on ways to remember and visualize your goals daily. If you are mindful of your goals everyday, you’re chances of achieving them goes up dramatically.
Stop waiting till January 1st to create goals and learn how to be mindful of them daily.
How to remember and visualize your goals daily:
1- Vision board
Vision boards are great for visualizing and remembering your goals. A vision board should be a visual representation of what you want to achieve. Put your vision board in a place where you can see it daily. Each morning take a couple of minutes to look at your vision board. Doing this will remind you of your goals and what you’re working towards.
When creating a vision board, keep it simple. Avoid putting too many photos/words on your vision board. You want it to be a clear reminder of what you want to achieve, not an overwhelming collage of photos.
2- Sticky notes
One method for remembering and visualizing your goals is using sticky notes. Similar to the vision board, you want to place sticky notes where you will see them every day. Write your goals on them and motivating words or phrases.
Our favorite way to utilize sticky notes is by placing them on your bathroom mirror. The purpose behind this method is that people typically look in the bathroom mirror each morning when getting ready. Sticky notes are great because they typically come in bright colors, so no matter where you place it on your mirror, it will catch your attention..
Avoid posting too many sticky notes at one time. Again, we don’t want to overwhelm you or cause anxiety with all that you have to do. Place one or two sticky notes at a time and keep it simple!
3- Write them down
For those of us who love writing, a successful method for visualizing and remembering goals is to write them down each day. Whether it’s in a journal, on a whiteboard or in your daily planner, take the time to write down your goals everyday.
Research has shown that you are 42 percent more likely to achieve your goals if you write them down.
4- Repeat them each day – affirmations
Another method for remembering and visualizing your goals is to repeat them out loud daily. If you’re into daily affirmations, this is a great method for you! Telling yourself what you want to achieve can be extremely effective.
We recommend looking into the mirror and saying your affirmations out loud to yourself. This will increase your confidence and motivation.
5- Visualize what your life will look like when you achieve your goals
The power of visualization is something we need to start taking advantage of. Our minds are powerful than we even know, especially when it comes to visualization.
Research suggests that your ability to vividly imagine details about a positive future dramatically increases your energy and momentum, which leads to constructive action.
