Intention = Set, track, and achieve goals.
When you are starting to develop yourself and your goals, it’s important to start by setting your intentions. Without being intentional, our actions have no meaning and we don’t have anything to track or achieve. Intention is simply defined as a “plan”.
Pick One Thing
Going back to discovery for just a second. When we are sitting down to set intentions we need to start with “what we want”. If you start from there, you can work backwards on picking one thing you can do for the next 30 days.
Once you have decided what you want, it’s time to focus. You should do some research and make a plan, but don’t get caught up on simply wanting something. You have to be all in.
It’s important to focus for 30 days on what you want because it gives you time to encorporate it into your routine. Changing our whole routine by adding 2 hours of “extra” into our day only points us in one direction… failure.
When we focus we become more intentional about what we are doing. If you knew you only had 15 minutes to work-out each day, how easy does it become to get that one thing done?
We need to allow ourselves to try something and go through it for a minimum of 30 days to determine if we like it, if it’s working, how we couldn’t improve it, and how it fits in our schedule.
Now that you know what you want and you’re focused on how it’s going to work, it’s time to measure your progress. Measuring progress is important because it lets you know if you’re heading in the right direction and how close you are to achieving your goal.
Another reason to measure progress is to help you remember the little wins and victorys you have along the way. This is important because it isn’t always smooth sailing. You’re going to have bad days when you feel like there’s no point in trying.
Trust me. There is a point. That’s why no matter what you are doing you should be setting a measurement or way of tracking your progress.
Being intentional is going to help you succeed in any aspect of your life. If you are constantly setting, tracking, and achieving your goals, you’ll progress and become the best version of yourself! To help you get started, follow the actions below!
