Coaches are a great resource of knowledge and support. There are many reasons to have a coach and there are coaches for almost every aspect of life! Whether you want to improve your health, work or well-being, having a coach can help you achieve your goals faster and more effectively.
Here are our top reasons you need a coach:
1- Hold you accountable
Here at BAD Athletics we believe in the power of accountability. One of the best aspects of having a coach is their ability to hold you accountable. We often lack integrity with ourselves and therefore we struggle to hold ourselves accountable. A coach will hold you accountable and help you stay on track with your goals.
2- Push you out of your comfort zone
We are creatures of habit, so we enjoy staying in our comfort zone. Coaches are great for helping us push ourselves out of our comfort zone. Whether you need help pushing yourself in the gym, with your nutrition or in your personal life, a coach can help you become more than you would be on your own. Get a coach that is going to challenge you and force you to grow.
3- See your potential
Coaches have an outside perspective and can see the potential we have. We ALL have unlimited potential and it’s important to be reminded of that. We can often doubt ourselves and what we’re capable of, so getting a coach can help you see your potential. When we see our potential we become much more motivated and optimistic.
4- Encourage you
We are often harder on ourselves than anyone else. Our internal talk can sometimes be negative and discouraging. Coaches are great for knowing when to give you positive feedback and encouragement. If you feel like you could use some encouragement, reach out to someone to help you stay motivated.
If you feel like your coach doesn’t encourage you enough, talk to your coach about it or find a new coach.
5- They know what you need to do in order to improve
Coaches are typically specialists in their specific area. Because of this, a coach can tell you exactly what you need to do to improve and the steps it takes to get there. This can be helpful especially when you get frustrated or feel like you aren’t getting results. A coach will know what changes you need to make and how to get you on the right track.
6- Expand your knowledge and thinking
Coaches typically know more than we do (otherwise they wouldn’t be our coach). Because of this, they can help us expand our knowledge and way of thinking. Being able to learn from someone who has either been in your shoes or has studied for many years, there are many things to learn from them. Take advantage of it. If you already have a coach, don’t hesitate to ask them questions.
7- Help you create and achieve your goals
Sometimes it can be hard to know what goals make sense and the best way to achieve them. Having a coach can help you create clear, specific, measurable and time-bound goals. They can also help you along the way to make sure you’re progressing towards your goals.
There are many reasons you may need a coach or could benefit from having one. Coaches help us achieve more than we could on our own. There are coaches for almost anything, so go out there and get a coach!
